Stampin' Up! Convention Card swap # 2

So for this swap I wanted to play with the new blendablities markers from Stampin' Up.  I chose to play with the Coastal Cabana and the Daffodil Delight Assortment.  I used the Daffodil Delight light and medium blendabilities markers and with the Coastal Cabana Assortment I used the Dark and Medium markers.

For the base of the card I used Bermuda Bay cardstock and then for the next layer used Hello Honey and embossed it with the Honeycomb embossing folder.  I cut a piece of Whisper White paper cut 3.5 by 3.25 and stamped it with the Blended Bloom stamp in the tuxedo black memento ink and colored it with the Blendabilities Markers.  Then framed the whisper white paper with the On Film die cut.  The sentiment is stamped from the Hostess set Let Your Hair Down in Blackberry Bliss and then punched out with the 1.75 circle punch topped with a bow in the 3/8" stitched satin ribbon also in blackberry Bliss.

Hope you like the cards for this years convention swaps!  Can't wait to see what everyone else has created for the swaps!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2014 Swaps

This year while attending the Stampin' Up convention I will be joining a swap group!  So excited I didn't participate in any swaps last year and regretted it. There were so many great cards out there. Here is a picture of my first group of swap cards.

I used the new in-color Lost Lagoon, and I have to say it is becoming my favorite go to color!  I cut my paper 4.25 by 11 and then scored it at 5.5. Then on one of the sides of the card I cut to the scored line at 2.25.  I used the new Lullaby DSP paper cut 2 by 5.25.  For the stamps I used the Flower Shop set stamped in Blackberry Bliss and in the center of the Flower shop flowers I used the Petite Petals stamp set stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched them out with the coordinating punches.  In the center of the petite petals I used the 2-way glue pen and sprinkled some dazzling diamonds in the center to give it some SPARKLE!!  For the greeting of the card I used the new hostess stamp set Let Your Hair Down.  Another idea for this card is that you could make it a gift card holder easily on the back side of the DSP piece add another piece of paper and glue down 3 sides of the paper down leaving the top piece open and insert your gift card there.  Hope you like the card and stay tuned for my second swap card!!

Stampin Up!

So I am starting a new adventure and really excited about it.  I have been a Stampin Up demonstrator for a while now but haven't done anything with it.   So with convention coming up and how I like to spend money on anything crafty I decided I better start actually having some parties to offset what I spend on Stampin Up products!!!

Stampin Up has a new catalog being released next month!  Yes I know exciting stuff.  Being a demonstrator I can preorder items and start playing with them to get the ball rolling when the customers can order.

Here is a picture of a card I created real quick this evening using the new colors Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush.  The stamped image is one of the new hostess sets called Label love stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and I used the artisan label punch to punch it out of whisper white paper.  The stamped image is popped up using a dimensional on top of a Sahara sand paper cut out using the apothecary accent die cut.  The Strawberry Slush is also die cut out I'd the apothecary accents set. For the base of my card I used the new in color Coastal Cabana and used the perfect polka dots embossing folder.  For embellishments I used linen thread and 5/8" Organza ribbon for the bow.  On top of the Strawberry Slush I embellished it with basic pearl jewels.  Hope you like it!

If you would like anything from the catalog you can always order from the online catalog.  My website address is www.lauraking.stampinup.net

Happy shopping!

BLOG HOP!!

So I entered to play along in a blog hop and TOTALLY forgot about it!  OOPS!  Nothing like down to the last minute and doing thinkgs right?

For my homemade card I did some punch art and I have to say I really love how it turned out. I saw this card on another blog can't remember which one, sorry... I like to look around  at blogs and get some inspirations.  I was a little terrified to make this card but so glad I challenged myself to do it because I just LOVE it!  (Although it is a little time consuming)

Here is the card I made

For some reason I didn't take a picture of the card by itself!  Silly me,  the card I did for this blog hop is the one on the left with the pine cones.  For this card I used all Stampin' Up products.  Here is the list of products I used..

Card base is 5.5 by 4.25 in Early Espresso
Very Vanilla is embossed with the lace brocade folder and is 5.25 by 4
For the Vertical stripe I used Early Espresso and some Paper from the Christmas Fun pack.
Then the Banners I used again Early espresso cut in 1.5 strips and then put some more paper from the Christams fun pack on it. I also used a die out of the pennants from Stampin Up! and distressed it in Chocolate Chip.  For the pine cones I used the Blossom punch and punched out ALOT of petals and distressed them in Chocolate Chip as well! (This was the time consuming part of things)  Then just layered them until I got my pine cone shapes.  Then to add some color I cut some very thin pieces of Gumball green for the sprigs of my pinecones and finished off with some seam binding ribbon.

There it is folks hope you enjoyed my card and have fun Hopping TODAY!!!

That's it for me this morning got to get some sleep before my family Thanksgiving in 8 hours!!

Merry Monday Challenge 17

I found time this week to play along with the Merry Monday challenge at Always playing with paper with Lesley.  I have done all of the challenges but was not able to post some of them due to me ALWAYS being on the run!!  Life just wouldn't be the same if I wasn't running around like a chicken and it's head cut off!!

Well here is the sketch we worked with this week.

And here is my card.......

I really LOVE this card, must say it is my FAVORITE one I have done thus far.

For the base of the card I used from Stampin' Up Night of Navy.  The background paper is from BOBUNNY called Midnight Frost Snowfall.  The circles are punched out using the Rich Razzleberry paper from Stampin' Up.

I also go to use my FRAMELITS!!!  Must say I LOVE EM'!  It's using Stampin' Up Pool Party paper stamped in Rich Razzleberry from the stamp set Many Merry Messages.  Then I distressed the edge of it in Basic Gray.  The snowflakes are cut from the sizzlits Snowflakes set #2 die sets.  Then gone over in Diamond and Baby Blue Stickles!!

Hope you enjoyed the card as much as I do!!  Till next week.

Merry Monday Challenge # 14

I really enjoyed this layout and had fun creating it. Here is what I came up with this week.

I used Lucky Limeade CS for the base of the card and paired it with DSP from SU in Lucky Limeade. Also used from SU whisper white CS that is embossed with holly and berries. Finshed off with white satin ribbon also from SU! The Christmas tree is from the SU set Snow Much Fun. Used my blender pen to color in the stamped image using Lucky limeade and Baja breeze. For the ornaments on the tree I used the Viva Decor light blue pearl pen.

Til next week!!

Merry Monday Challenge 13

So I found some time this week to participate in teh Merry Monday Challenge!! Here is the sketch that we used this week. I love the idea that by the time Christmas is here I will have all of my cards done! No waiting till the last minute. Here is what I came up with although the picture does not give this card justice. The stickles really shimmers in the light and really makes the snowflake stand out more. I also used some pearl pens for the coals on the snowman and on the falling snow! Enjoy
Till next week!!
