Lake Texana

So this past Friday Richard and Patsy picked up Matthew and Aubrey and headed to Lake Texana. I had to work Friday night and Saturday afternoon. So after I got off on Saturday Rick picked me up and we went to Lake Texana. We ended up staying the night with them in the Motorhome. I guess you could say it was a test run for when we go to Dinosaur Valley State Park the 1st weekend in JUNE.

Here is a picture of the kids in the motorhome

I guess you really can't call this roughing it with TV and Air conditioning.

The kids had a BLAST and can't wait to go back! Hopefully they won't mind trying it in a tent next time. Who know Grammie and Papa may have spoiled them already!

When we arrived on Saturday Richard and Patsy had dinner made for us and Rick and I brought the fixin's for SMORES. You can't go camping and not have smores.

Here we are making smores.

We also got to see some deer really close up. Matthew thought it was GREAT as for Aubrey well if you know her you can imagine the screaming. Her Aunt Lynn could have possibly heard it at her house.

Here we are tricking the deer thinking we had food for her. Matthew was so excited that he got so close to the deer.

At lake Texana they also had a playground area for the kids. Matthew and Aubrey fell in love with the Rock climbing wall. I had to help Aubrey a little bit but after one time she became a PRO. I swear this girl is going to have some upper body strength. I hope she can keep that up for when she gets older and not be so weany like her mother.

Here are some pictures of the rest of the weekend

Something New

OK - So it's been a LOOOONG while since I've posted. Life is CRAZY at the moment, but I promise to get back in the swing of things. I'm going to start with the SPT of the week. SOMETHING NEW...
Well my something new is the Nintendo Wii. Yes I know I'm still a kid at heart. But I don't think you can get too old for games. Heck this is one game my HUSBAND will play with me. Something we can do together and laugh at each other with. We've tried teaching the kids but they are still a little impatient yet independent on the whole thing. They don't have a clue about what they are doing but they sure do try. We let them play the boxing game and they look so funny swinging those tiny little arms around in the air. I will have to get a picture of them playing and post it so you can see for yourself.
Oh yeah as for Mother's Day ! It was wonderful. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to spend with the family playing. All though there was no card RICK - oh wait that's right he showed it to me in the store read it to me and said now I don't have to buy it. What a sense a humor!!! As for the kids they made things for me at school. Aubrey had a plant for me and a poem with her handprints on it and Matthew has a different poem with his handprints on the paper. I just LOVE these Memory Keepsakes. Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day and many more to come.

Family Outings

So things are getting a little easier with the munchkins! For my Birthday I decided I wanted to take the kids to the movies. Matthews second time for the theater and Aubrey's first. We went to see Horton hears a Who! Matthew was glued to the screen and laughing. He really enjoyed it. Aubrey - well she did well but as a girl we made many trips to the potty and was ready to go home after a while. She's the child that doesn't really care to sit still and watch a cartoon. But all in all I think it was a good trip for the family. We even ate at McDonalds and let them play in the jungle gym area. I think I have started something, now everytime we drive by they ask if they can stop and play.

This weekend we went to a wedding with the kids. They had a blast and looked so cute. They had fun dancing the night away and running around with all the other children. I forgot my camera so there won't be any pictures. But Aunt Lisa bought Aubrey some dresses and Matthew some shorts. Aubrey is in LOVE with her dresses and looks like a princess. I will get a picture to post of her in one of her new dresses. SO a BIG thank you to Aunt Lisa.

HAIRCUTS

I finally broke down and last weekend I went and got Aubrey a haircut. She has such baby fine hair. So I cut it in hopes that it will grow in fuller! Here is the new do.....

Then this weekend we had plans to go get Matthew's done, then I had that most dreaded moment in motherhood with small kids.

The SCISSORS!!

While hanging up clothes I noticed that the kids had gotten awfully quiet. And here comes Matthew saying I shouldn't play with scissors right MOMMY! I said yes sir and look at his hair. Low and behold the gap in the hair. I took a picture so that he will remember this.

So I call SuperCuts and asked if Lisa was working and she was. GREAT!!! Lisa cuts grammie and grandpas' hair along with daddys'. She looked at him and turns to me with a grin. I said yep he got the scissors! I told her to do what she could. She said she could try to blend it in but you would still be able to see the bald spot. Then she said we could just buzz it. I said go for it. (with regret of course he had handsome little boy hair). Here is Before the accident, right after the accidend and the new haircut pictures.

Lisa gave Matthew a talk and he said that he would never cut his hair by himself again.. If mommy and daddy can't take you she said GRANDPA knows where to find MS. LISA.

Valentine Treat

This weeks SPT question:

Were you able to treat yourself with a special valentine?

I actually did this year. Last Thursday I went to the quilt store because they were having a sale and there was this BEAUTIFUL Quilt Kit that I was eyeing. My Office Manager was with me and she bought one. I opted out because it was a little high. Well after sleeping on it and thinking how I would really regret not getting it. So I went back on Saturday and got it and considered it my Valentine to myself.

Here is a picutre of what the quilt will look like all finished and a picture of some of the fabrics.

Not a real clear picture but if I used the flash it was too bright.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! and a Happy Birthday to Papa (Richard)

This morning was a great day. The kids were excited to see thier Valentine gifts. Grandma King got them a gift basket with candy and some stuffed animals in it. While Rick and I got them a stuffed puppy and a some M&M's.

They're still a little sleepy but they were excited.

Then at school today they will have thier parties and I ordered them a balloon and some more M&M's. Hopefully I can get some pictures at their parties.

Aubrey with her goodies at her party!

Matthew showing me his Valentine he made for Mom and Dad with his pouty picture on it. :P

I got up extra early this morning so that Rick could open his Valentine card and candy and there was a gift for me on the table as well. A puppy and a card. I didn't have my glasses on so it was a little blurry but somehthing caught my eye. Around the puppies neck on a twine rope was a ring attached to it. I had told him a LONG time ago when walking through Sam's that, that ring was beautiful.

And now it is on my hand!!!

I just recieved these tulips from my wonderful husband. I have to say I have the best husband in the world. Patsy you sure did raise him right. : )

SPT

Today's SPT included this fill in the blank picture statement:

The other day, I was in my bedroom, and I noticed this original XBOX. My only thought was, "why do i still have this hanging around my house?!?"

I never play it they don't even make games for it anymore since the XBOX 360 came out!! SO while I was at home most of this week I went to Hastings and noticed that they buy old game systems so maybe this weekend I will take it in there then it won't cost me any money to rent any movies.
