Today's SPT included this fill in the blank picture statement:

The other day, I was in my bedroom, and I noticed this original XBOX. My only thought was, "why do i still have this hanging around my house?!?"

I never play it they don't even make games for it anymore since the XBOX 360 came out!! SO while I was at home most of this week I went to Hastings and noticed that they buy old game systems so maybe this weekend I will take it in there then it won't cost me any money to rent any movies.

Super Bowl Sunday

So It's Super Bowl Sunday! Ok so not that exciting since the Cowboys aren't in it but what the heck lets have people over and enjoy the game....I will miss the first hour of the game due to being at my second job. Rick will have to start dinner on his own till I get home.

So my kids are STARVING - and it's been two weeks since I've been to the grocery store. I have eggs and Bisquick - Rick is wanting biscuits so the GOOD WIFE that I am read the back of the bisquick box and start making biscuits. All of you that know me this is really ambitious of me. But hey they ended up being really good and REALLY CUTE! As you can see from the photo they are Mickey and Minnie Mouse shapes.

I got these cookie cutters for the kids' birthday party and never used them! What a perfect oppurtunity to use them.. Oh yeah then I had to make the gravy (Instant mix) so my husband could have biscuits and gravy! I must say it was an excellent breakfast just look at Matthew's face!! (PRICELESS) Aubrey's picture not so good but thought I would include it anyway. I couldn't get a picture of her with her eyes OPEN!!

After cleaning up I go ahead and decide to go the the grocery store since we will be having people over for dinner and the game! I pick up fajita meat and tortillas a necessity here in south Texas. Along with the Cheesedip and chips. And you must have a dessert the best part of any meal!! So seeing how I started out so ambitious this morning why not for the dessert I made Chocolate Mousse Napoleons with Strawberries and Cream. I was really impressed with myself they turned out pretty much like the picture in the book and they were Oh so scrumptios. If your good Richard maybe I will make some for your birthday if you and Patsy ever decide to travel back to TEXAS and see the Grandkids. (HA HA :P) Here is the picture of the dessert.

Even though the Cowboys weren't in the Superbowl it still ended up being a good game to watch with our friends Misty and Hogan and of course baby Cayden and my parents.

When I got home after work Rick informed me that Matthew has been really tired and that he is running a temperature. Needless to say I get home take his temp and he is at 103.5!!! So I give him some Motrin and a cool wash cloth to help bring the temp down. But not much success. So on Monday morning I took him to the office with me and Aubrey to school. The doctor has he has the FLU and a sinus infection!! And yes he got the flu shot but we still have that UGLY BUG!! RICHARD and PATSY where are YOU when I need my retired babysitters!!!(HA HA)

Second Job

So this evening I started my second job. It's with Driscoll Childrens' Hospital. It's an after hours clinic open in the evenings with our local pediatricians and nurses. It's only open from 6-10 pm on weekdays and from 2-6pm on the weekends. It just helps you stay out of the ER. And the great part is that the people only have to pay their co-pay instead of an Emergency Room visit.

Well on Friday I went to the daycare and met Rick to pick up the kids. I told Matthew that I had to go to work but would see later that night. He got teary eyed and said "I was good boy mom" " I don't want you to go to work". That just broke my heart. I told I know you were a good boy and that I was proud of him, and that I would see him after while.. Even though that was tough I went to work and really enjoyed it.

We only saw 5 patients but the clinic has only been open for 1 week. So the word is out that were open. Although there has been a lot of advertising lately. This was my only night to work this month. We will have to see what February brings.

All is Quiet

All is quiet is not all that good unless everyone is sleeping.
We had an interesting evening on Tuesday - While I was fixing dinner I put on the Diego Movie in Matthews bedroom. Well they were being pretty quiet but I was believing in my children thinking Oh there just really into the Diego movie.. Boy was I wrong!! Well I got dinner all fixed and called them to the table to eat. After dinner we go directly to the bathtub, bathe the kids, take them to their rooms to get them ready for bed.
Well Rick takes Matthew and says Oh MY GOSH!! I said what? He then starts saying they are going directly to bed. Mind you it is only 7 p.m. Well I now know why they were so quiet. They had gotten into a box of crayons and broken every single one into a million pieces - Thrown all over the room.

A New Quilt

So I have started another lap quilt for Matthew. One for him to watch t.v. with. I have really enjoyed quilting. I have several new quilts that I will be working on this year including a lap quilt for Aubrey and one for me. And then one of my favorite one's I will working on is thjat has a lady with an umbrella on it. I can't wait to get started on it. But call me crazy I like to do one quilt at a time.

Has it been that LONG

Wow so it's been a while since my last post. So I guess that I will just do one to catch up to date.





Let's start with December.





The kids had a christmas program at school. They were so cute. Here they are the morning of the christmas program.

Yes Matthew was forced to take the picture. I have a feeling that he wil be like his daddy and won't want to take pictures too often.

I had some really cute pictures and video of the christmas program but there was an accident. I was cleaning out my car and even vaccuuming it and I had a bunch of stuff on the lawn when I went to back the car up into the driveway to vaccuum out the back end the edge of the tire must have gotten the camera bag and you can see where this is going. Yes the camera no longer works. Very sickening. I had only had the camera/recorder for 2 weeks. SO needless to say I lost all of the christmas program, Christmas morning. and christmas eve.

Well that about sums it up for the month of December.

The Award

So yes I am going to rat myself out! I designated myself the WORST MOTHER of the YEAR awards last night. Let me tell you what happened. First I get home and the kids wanted to go and play outside in the backyard. I figured that would be ok while I cook dinner. So I let them outside and open up the blinds so I can keep an eye on them. Well I now think it is time to put a bigger lock on the back gate. One of our neighbors came to the door and said do you know your kids are in the front yard? I said WHAT?? I said no and she said I didn't think you did, she said she didn't mean to medle(spell check) I said by no means are you medeling. I appreciate it.

So as if that isn't bad enough it gets worse! I know what could be worse than your kids playing in the front yard without any supervision!! Well while cleaning up the kitchen after dinner, Matthew came in the kitchen SCREAMING at the top of his lungs saying hurt ear, hurt ear! I said what happened trying to understand him I said did Aubrey bite you and surprisingly he said no so I asked again what happened? He calms down a tid bit and says screwdriver!! I said you put a screwdriver in your ear and he replys yes.

So calmly I said let me see where is the screwdriver? He went and got it and I went and got the phone. This is a perk of working for your pediatrician. I call him on the phone and tell him what happened and he walks me through it. Luckily I had some ear drops that I could use. After applying the ear drops he seemed to do ok. Thank goodness he slept fine and said that his ear didn't hurt this morning!

SO that is why I gave myself the WORST MOTHER OF THE YEAR award.
